Can Wolfram Alpha put Google out of business?

Is the future Wolfram Alpha?

Well despite the title I set, I wouldn’t go that far with such prediction.

There’s always so much excitement and hope with something new and unique.

Yes Wolfram Alpha might be the next search engine of what the future holds, where instead of spitting a list of results that Google search engine does, Wolfram Alpha provides specific answers by drawing on the accumulated knowledge of the Web.

In fact Wolfram Alpha has gone live now and you can try it out yourself. It’s at www.wolframalpha.com

Google last year income is $21 billion and most if not all of the revenue comes from its advertising model.

So I’m pretty much interested to know on monetization standing for Wolfram Alpha.

And so far the Wolfram Research has not mentioned anything about monetizing its new search engine.

But I reckon Wolfram Alpha might go down the same path of Google with display ads such as Featured Sponsors, etc.
