WordPress 2.8 Beta 1

WordPress 2.8 ETA is …

Oooh the next version of WordPress is just around the corner and I’m excited about it.

Plus with WordPress 2.8 Beta 1 released 3 days ago, you can try it out first if ya wanna have a peek preview.

I’ve yet to test-drive the latest beta myself, but what I’m looking forward in the upcoming version is the improved database performance, that’s it.

Although keep an eye on the revamp of the Widget Management area however. Well it’s supposed to be better in terms of its interface, so we shall see about that one.

The new version is basically an improvement of the v2.7 legacy in terms of loading, closing existing tickets and such. To me v2.7.1 could be better, as it’s still quite bloated IMO.

The official release date for v2.8 is said to be around June (tentative) … who knows, it might be later or earlier.
